Christians often describe church as family.
But do we truly grasp the significance of this?
What does the Bible say about what families are?
Does it really shape the way we love one another?
What does it actually mean that church is family?
How does this impact both single and married Christians?
Join us for Single Minded's 2024 Day Conference as we open the Bible to understand why family really does matter, for married and single Christians alike.
We'll explore the joys and challenges that come with being brothers and sisters in Christ, and consider how the gospel revolutionises the way we ought to think about church, belonging, community, friendship... and family.
9.00am - 4.30pm | 11 May 2024 | Scots Church, Sydney or Livestream
Simon Flinders is the Archdeacon to the Anglican Archbishop of Sydney. Prior to taking on this role full-time in 2023, Simon served on the ministry team of St Mark's Anglican Church Northbridge for thirteen years, ten of those as the church's Senior Pastor.
Simon is very keen that our convictions about church are shaped by the Bible more than anything else. He loves helping God's people to appreciate more fully what it means that the church is God's family and why that truth matters so much.
He is also passionate about seeing church communities become places where single and married Christians equally belong to one another.
Simon is married to Tamara, and they have three daughters - Gemma, Lily, and Charlotte.
