WITH MEL HANGER

For many single or single-again Christians, loneliness can be a regular companion, and one which speaks  into their lives in unique ways. Recognising, understanding and voicing our loneliness can be key to us living well with that companion, without being consumed by it. In this webinar, we'll consider why it's important for single Christians to courageously  "speak up"  about their loneliness, and encourage married Christians to understand how the gospel equips them to "speak louder" than loneliness in the lives of those they love.

Mel is the Director of Arundel House, university student accomodation. Her passions are empowering young people to thrive in the light of the Gospel, music, her family and friends.

If you're single, then this webinar is a particularly great one to invite your married Christian friends along to.

WITH SIMON FLINDERS

One of the great blessings of Christian life is the fellowship we have with one another.  But even though we are surrounded by brothers and sisters in Christ, sometimes we still feel lonely. This can be particularly true for single Christians. How can they faithfully navigate and respond to feelings of loneliness and disconnection in their Christian communities? How can married friends and church leaders better understand that sense of loneliness, and love them in and through it?

Simon is the senior pastor of St Mark's Anglican Church, Northbridge. He  is eager for our church communities to be places where single people truly belong.

This webinar would be a great one for bible study and/or church groups to all attend together.

But what if our pangs of loneliness are meant to point us to something greater? Join us as we see how God redeems our loneliness and uses it in our lives to draw us to himself. Ultimately, we want to see that even when we feel misunderstood, forsaken, or abandoned, we're never really alone. God is always with us, and  he can meet all of our needs in Christ Jesus.

WITH LAUREN ERRINGTON

People are complex. This means our relationships with each other are too. We’re all trying to navigate the fine balance between our own—and each other’s—longings for togethernesss, and also our need for some individuality.  How do we as people – single and otherwise – look to relationships to make ourselves feel more secure or comfortable? This seminar hopes to consider loneliness as a way of observing self and growing in self-understanding, as we seek find our ultimate identity and fulfilment in Christ.

Lauren is the Executive Director of The Family Systems Institute.  She is an accredited mental health social worker, a clinical therapist and a Christian who is passionate about equipping people to face the challenges of life's relationships.

While some of Lauren's insights will be particularly relevant to singles, this webinar is designed to equip married and single Christians alike.
