ABOUT

We live in a world which says our bodies exist for pleasure and self-expression, and that this must be pursued at all costs. But the Bible tells us that our bodies have been made for holiness and self-control, and that rejecting this comes at great cost.

Such conflicting messages can leave us feeling that the world says nothing but “Yes!” to our bodies, while God says nothing but “No!”.

But is that true? Is 'No' really all that God has to say about our bodies?

Join us for Single Minded 2022 as Sam Allberry helps us explore what it  means for us to have been created with bodies, what it looks like to have a body that belongs to the Lord in a world of confusion, and how God's word helps us to live this out in our everyday lives.

While we’ll spend some time thinking about how this applies particularly to unmarried Christians, Single Minded has always been about singleness but for everyone. So whether you are single or married, we hope you’ll join us as together we consider what God’s word has to say about being a body.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A BODY?

SPEAKER

Sam speaks around the world as a pastor, preacher and apologist. He is the author of Seven Myths About SinglenessWhy Does God Care Who I Sleep With? and What God Has To Say About Our Bodies.

He is in the process of moving to the US to join the staff at Immanuel Nashville, is a Canon Theologian for the Anglican Church in North America, and is a Senior Fellow at OCCA Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics. Sam is also the co-host of the podcast You’re Not Crazy: Gospel Sanity for Young Pastors

Sam was the keynote speaker at Single Minded's first ever conference in 2018 (you can watch his talks from that conference here). We're absolutely delighted to be welcoming him back for Single Minded 2022!

We're prayerfully optimistic that Single Minded 2022 will be able to go ahead without any major Covid complications.  However if nothing else, the last two years has taught us all to plan for the unexpected! So here are some things to know in advance:

  • We'll be closely monitoring the public health advice and orders in place in the lead up to Single Minded 2022 and will be ready to respond as necessary. All attendees will be expected to follow any Covid safety measures in place at the time.

  • If density limits happen to be reinstated (thereby reducing our maximum live attendance capacity) tickets will be retained in order of purchase date (i.e., it pays to purchase your ticket early!). If you fall on the other site of the cut-off, we will automatically swap your ticket for a livestream ticket and refund you the difference.

  • If you have any Covid related symptoms on the day, please do not attend the live conference, group livestreams or attend a livestream hub. We'll make sure that you have all the info needed to access the full livestream from the comfort of your home

COVID
